Photo of Christmas candle lights by photographer Norman YoungThis year’s charity carol concert featuring the Faculty Choir will have an earlier than usual starting time of 6pm.

The venue is again St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church, George Street, Edinburgh, on Friday, 11 December 2015.

Admission is free but there will be a collection in aid of the Edinburgh City Mission.

The choir has a long association of helping to support the work of ECM in this way. We are very grateful for this support and the generosity of the people at this event. Over the years this has raised tens of thousands of pounds for our work with people with a variety of needs.

More information about the Faculty of Advocates (opens in new tab/window) is available on their website.

The annual Faculty of Advocates Christmas Concert will take place at St Andrew’s and St George’s West Church, George Street, Edinburgh on Wednesday 17th December 2014 at 7.30pm (doors open at 7pm).

Since its creation in 1996, the Faculty Choir has raised tens of thousands of pounds for the homeless in Edinburgh and under the direction of Advocates Ross Macfarlane and Neil Beynon, The Choir has sung all over the world, with performances in the Vatican, Notre-Dame de Paris and Off-Broadway.

Ross Macfarlane, Artistic Director, says: “We had no idea when we started that the Christmas concert would become such an institution in Edinburgh and we’re delighted to do this for such a good cause.  I think that this year will be particularly good since we have a range of great readings and readers, and lots of popular carols for the audience to sing.”

The Faculty Choir will also feature this Thursday 11th December at the National Library of Scotland’s “Christmas Fair” from 6pm.
