Soul Food

We partner with Soul Food Edinburgh to set a table for our neighbours in Newington, inviting them to join us for a hot takeaway meal on Monday evenings, in partnership with City of Edinburgh Methodist Church in Nicolson Square. The meal is particularly for those who are living in isolation or experiencing homelessness, but all are welcome.

Soul Food is always more than a meal. We share Soul Food Edinburgh’s vision which is centred around the power of a table. By setting a table and sharing a meal, we hope to provide a context that offers a place of safety and security where people feel accepted, respected, valued, loved and heard. During the pandemic restrictions we have been providing the meals as “grab & go” – we are looking forward to being able to sit and eat with one another again.

Why We Do What We Do

Romans 12:4-6

“For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. We have different gifts, according to the grace given to each of us.”
